Conference Speakers

I went to a Philosophy Conference on Saturday (one I helped organise in fact; put on by a Philosophical Society I help run). It was a sweltering day, but we had some lively discussion. As usual, I should have been paying more attention to the papers and less time to the features of the speakers. The last fellow had a great face and posture but moved a lot so I couldn't get him. Quentin Blake would have done him justice.

Happy to see new sketches! I always like your precision when you draw the faces and hair from life. Just a curiosity- do they realize that you were portraying them?

Another modest offering of mine, but thank you, Roberto! I try to be precise, so thanks. Sometimes I wish I could loosen up, though and be less concerned with getting it 'right'. The unwitting models rarely know. In this case, they certainly didn't - they were giving papers on deep matters ;-) Mostly, I try to be discreet. I am too shy to ask to draw people and too self-conscious to like being noticed drawing. The drawback is that being discreet inhibits my drawing movements. Thanks for stopping by!
